Build a guitar part from the notes you enter

Enter fret numbers and note lengths in the tab editor. Compare matching scales, select an interval, and generate a second guitar part. Explore alternate fretboard positions and listen to your lead and harmonies together.

The paid web editor supports longer projects, multiple harmony parts, chords, rests, undo and redo, tuning and time-signature settings, and project saving. This is a note-entry workflow; it does not transcribe audio recordings.

How to get started on your Mac

  1. Buy Guitar Harmony Helper. One purchase includes both web access and the Windows app.
  2. Save the .ghhlicense file provided after payment or in your license email.
  3. Open the web editor in a desktop or laptop browser and select your license file.
  4. Create your riff. Use File → Save .ghh to download your project, and File → Open .ghh to return to it later.

A web edition for your Mac

The Mac version runs in your browser with an internet connection. You do not need to install Windows or download a Mac desktop application. Projects are saved as files on your computer; cloud storage and automatic syncing are not included.

Browser playback uses SoundFont instruments. The included Windows app uses its own FMOD sampled guitar engine, so the two editions sound different.

Free demo or paid web editor?

The free browser demo lets you try one bar in 4/4 and one harmony, without an account. The paid web editor lets you work on longer projects, add multiple harmonies, and save and reopen your music. See the edition comparison.

Already own Guitar Harmony Helper?

Existing paid version 1 customers can use their current .ghhlicense file to unlock web access without paying again. Your browser remembers access for 30 days. Import the file again after it expires, after clearing cookies, or when using another browser.
